A Season of Reflection: What Summer Taught Us About Democracy

Summer is usually a season of rest. But in 2025, it became a season of reflection. And those reflections weren’t always easy.

Exhaustion and Doubt

People told us they feel worn down by politics, disillusioned by broken promises, and worried about the fragility of democracy itself. These weren’t complaints , they were honest truths folks had about the direction of our country.

Hope in the Same Breath

Yet almost always, those doubts were followed by hope. People spoke about their children, their neighbors, and their vision for the future. They reminded us that democracy is not just a system, it’s a promise worth fighting for.

This summer taught us that while democracy may be tired, it is far from defeated. Together, we can breathe new life into it.
