The Blue Wall of Summer: Cracks, Fears, and Hope
While the summer sun was steady, confidence in the so-called “Blue Wall” was not. From all across the Northeast, we heard real fear: Democrats are not standing strong enough as the last line of defense against Trump and authoritarianism.
Cracks in the Wall
“Where are the fighters?” people asked. There is a deep sense that too many leaders are content to play politics while democracy itself teeters. People don’t want caution, they want courage.
But Also, Hope
At the same time, we heard something else: hope. People asked how they could strengthen the wall. How they could organize their communities, host meetings, and demand more from their representatives. That’s the kind of grassroots action that can patch the cracks — and rebuild the wall stronger than ever.
