Blue Anchor Project Launches “Bye Collins!” Initiative, Announces Statewide Protests Demanding National Accountability
Portland, ME — The Blue Anchor Project today announced the launch of its “Bye Collins” initiative, a nationwide accountability campaign confronting Senator Susan Collins’ long-standing pattern of performative concern and political inaction. As part of the initiative, Mainers will hold coordinated protests outside Collins’ offices across the state on Friday, February 6.
For years, Senator Collins has built a national reputation on carefully worded statements that signal concern after the damage is already done. From repeated shutdown brinkmanship to votes that enable harmful federal policies, her leadership has consistently prioritized political convenience over accountability to the people of Maine.
“Mainers are tired of being told to wait while the same harm keeps happening,” said Liam Kent, Chairman of the Blue Anchor Project. “Susan Collins has mastered the art of saying just enough to avoid responsibility. Our Bye Collins! initiative is about drawing a clear line: no more excuses.”
Protests will take place in Portland (the headline event), Lewiston, Augusta, Bangor, Biddeford, and Caribou, calling on Senator Collins to:
Stop enabling a government shutdown
Oppose continued funding for abusive federal enforcement practices
Start answering directly to the people of Maine — or step aside
The Portland protest will be live-streamed, allowing Mainers who cannot attend in person to participate by submitting questions and comments in real time.
As part of the campaign, the Blue Anchor Project has launched susancollinsforsenate.com, a public accountability website designed to centralize information about Senator Collins’ record, statewide actions, livestream access, and constituent questions. The site serves as a transparent hub for Mainers seeking clarity, engagement, and direct participation in the accountability process.
“The goal isn’t noise for noise’s sake,” Kent added. “It’s honesty. Democracy only works when elected officials are accountable to the people they serve; right now, that accountability is missing.”
The Blue Anchor Project is a nonpartisan voter engagement organization dedicated to honest political education, government accountability, and strengthening democratic norms through community engagement.
